Hi Girls, welcome to our Saturday Special!
September has arrived.
Which means one minute you’re thinking, “It’s still summer!” and the next you’re standing outside wondering why you didn’t bring a jacket.
Welcome to transitional dressing.
It’s that wonderfully unpredictable time of year when we don’t want to dive headfirst into winter coats and chunky knits, but we’re definitely starting to appreciate an extra layer.
Luckily, there’s a very stylish solution.

A little more coverage, pleaseIf a gilet feels slightly too optimistic for the weather, the matching Marc Cain quilted jacket gives you that extra bit of warmth without becoming a full-on winter coat. The ice-blue colour is gorgeous, with the lime-green zip adding a brilliant little flash of colour. There are also cleverly concealed zipped pockets — ideal for your phone, keys or whatever else seems to mysteriously accumulate in your pockets. It’s one of those jackets you’ll probably find yourself reaching for constantly. |
Why we love a giletLuisa Cerano has also given us a beautiful quilted gilet, complete with a hood and practical pockets. And this is exactly why gilets are so useful. They’re wonderfully easy to layer. A shirt underneath gives you a smarter look; add a jumper when the temperature drops; wear with jeans for the weekend or tailored trousers for something a little more polished. They give you warmth without restricting what’s underneath. And if you’re someone who finds coats a little cumbersome, they’re a brilliant alternative. |

Pretty in pinkNow for something new — and rather lovely. This baby-pink jacket has an embossed rose-print effect, giving it a beautiful texture and making the colour feel much more sophisticated than your average pink. Then there’s the surprise inside: a lovely furry lining. So while it may look pretty and delicate, this is actually a wonderfully warm piece. And who says autumn has to be all about black, navy and camel? A little pink can be rather fabulous. In fact, we think this would look gorgeous with cream trousers, denim or even chocolate brown as the season progresses. |
And yes… there's still a sale
While we’re talking about new arrivals, there’s also plenty happening in the sale.
The Herzens blouse I’m wearing is one of my personal favourites. It has the sweetest butterfly detail and is one of those pieces that somehow always looks good.
I’ve worn mine repeatedly and it still looks as fresh as when I bought it — always a useful quality in a blouse!
There are only two left in stock and they’ve been reduced, so if you’ve had your eye on one, now would be a very good time to make your move.
There are some seriously good reductions in the sale at the moment.
But do make sure you have a look at the new arrivals too.
Because although we may not be quite ready to say goodbye to summer, the new season has arrived — and, frankly, it’s looking rather fabulous.
September styling rule?
Don't pack away summer. Layer it.
A summer shirt under a gilet. A lightweight blouse beneath a quilted jacket. Jeans with a cosy coat. A little colour to brighten up the darker months.
That’s the beauty of transitional dressing.
You don’t need a whole new wardrobe.
You just need a few very good layers.
Have a lovely week,
Love,
Izzi and the Girls xxx
